Get started on the journey to learn Hindi in 22 weeks!! Every semester has 6 months with 1 class per week. Our program is designed based on ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) proficiency guidelines of interactive reading, listening, speaking and writing with the help of audio and visual aids. The five “C” goal areas of ACTFL (Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities) which stress the application of learning a language beyond the instructional setting. Moreover our teaching content is inspired from NCERT- INDIA which is the official publisher of course textbooks in Indian schools. Month 1: We will begin the program with some class rules and transliteration which will help kids in learning process. Basic building blocks, Hindi consonants and vowels are introduced followed by cultural concepts like ethnic clothing. Month 2: Your child will continue to learn more vowels, consonants and its combination. They will practice conversation using simple sentences. Additionally, we will learn Hindi numbers, animal names in Hindi. Month 3: Your child will learn about Indian spring festivals, their history and significance. This will give them a well-rounded understanding of Hindi culture and traditions. They will work on a project to be part of the festivals themselves. Month 4: Your child will learn important aspects of the community such as family relations and respecting the elders. They will continue to recognize the patterns to combine a vowel with consonants and sound it makes. Month 5: Your child will learn the Hindi names of body parts and sense. They will continue to recognize the patterns to combine a vowel with consonants and sound it makes. Month 6: Final month will be focused on creating a project which will encapsulate the learnings over past few months and prepare them for level 2 of our program ! Songs and visual flash cards are used throughout the program to reinforce the concepts. We use Panchatantra stories with important life lessons and make the class interactive to keep the program engaging. The questions are designed keeping in mind the ACTFL proficiency guidelines and focus on. At the end of program they will develop a vocabulary of 50+words, know about all Hindi vowels, few consonants and can converse with a simple question answer set - who, when, what and will be more aware of Indian culture and traditions
